50 Years of International Covenants on Human Rights The Conference materials were prepared and published with the support of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) within the framework of the project for the implementation of the joint Master’s program of the Consortium of Russian Universities, while the opinion of the authors may not coincide and should not be identical with the position of the UNOHCHR. This collection presents the reports of scientists and practitioners in the field of protection and promotion of human rights, which were presented at this conference and were devoted to the history of the development and adoption of the International Covenants on Human Rights and their implementation at the present stage of development of the universal human rights system. A scientific and practical conference was held at RUDN University on 17 December 2016, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the International Covenants on Human Rights. The event took place on the basis of the decision of the representatives of the universities-members of the Consortium of Universities of Russia, jointly implementing the master's program “International Protection of Human Rights” with the support of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The conference was attended by over 150 people, including 25 foreigners from 19 countries of the world. This collection presents the reports of scholars and practitioners in the field of protection and promotion of human rights, which were presented at this conference and were devoted to the history of the development and adoption of the International Covenants on Human Rights and their implementation at the present stage of development of the universal human rights system.
