RUDN University

Peoples' Friendship University of Patrice Lumumba (PFU) was founded in 1960. In 1992, the university was renamed as the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN).

RUDN, as a classical university, is a standard of academic freedom, a symbol of reformation and development, a bearer of new ideas and scientific knowledge. Professors and teachers, based on the needs of society, develop and provide innovative methods of personnel training and disciplines teaching. RUDN possesses autonomy and is guided by international standards in all areas and areas of research.

RUDN was established as an international university and retains and strengthens the status of an internationally oriented educational institution to this day. Students from more than 150 countries study at RUDN every year. From the first years of the University's existence, students of all specialties study the course “Country Studies” and receive diplomas of translators, along with diplomas of specialists. The university’s graduates’ high level of proficiency in Russian and several foreign languages is ensured by the world-famous school of teaching Russian as a foreign language and the modern system of teaching foreign languages.

From the first days of their stay at RUDN, the student is surrounded by attention of the administration and his fellow countrymen, senior students, who help him to join the university family. Almost all students are members of national associations (communities), which throughout the years of study help in their studies in solving everyday issues, organize national and international exhibitions, holidays and festivals. Friendship and life in a multinational student family helps graduates to interact with each other in professional and social activities and in business. This is facilitated by the RUDN Alumni and Friends Association, faculty support funds created by alumni, and monthly meetings in the RUDN University alumni club.

Continuity is one of the main traditions of RUDN. The University honours the memory of the professors and staff who stood at the origins of its creation. All today's leaders of the main offices of the University are their students who continue their work.

The RUDN campus (campus) was repeatedly recognized as the best among Moscow universities.
