On 8 November 2018 the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia hosted an open lecture by Georgette Gagnon, Head of the Department for Field Missions and Technical Cooperation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, on the topic “70 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”, where the main focus was on the necessity to protect human rights and an analysis of the provisions of the Declaration. The lecture was attended by bachelor and master’s students and professors of the Department of International Law of the RUDN Law Institute. The Consortium’s students from the regions also had an opportunity to listen to the lecture and ask their questions thanks to the organized broadcast.
