Advanced training courses for teachers of partner universities of the Consortium

On 30 November, 1 and 2 December advanced training courses for teachers of the Consortium partner universities were held at the Ural Federal University of the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin on the topic “Sustainable Development Goals and Human Rights”. The course program included multiple disciplines and was directed at analysis of human rights activities in achievement of the SDGs.
Teachers from the universities of Moscow, Kazan, Voronezh, Perm and Yekaterinburg attended lectures of specialists and practitioners in the human rights area, as well as experts in the implementation of the SDGs.
Lectures were given by the following specialists:
- Aslan Khuseynovich Abashidze (Professor of the RUDN University, Vice-Chairman of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights), on the topic “Role of the framework for the human rights protection in assessing the progress in achievement of the SDGs”;
- Aluash Rashid (Coordinator for the joint program of the Russian Federation and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights), topic: “Human rights as the agenda foundation for achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030";
- Tatyana Ivanovna Margolina (member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights of the President of the Russian Federation, Member of the Board of the European Institute of Ombudsmen, Professor of the Perm State National Research University), topic: “Mediation in resolving disputes and conflicts as a communities’ Sustainable Development Goal;
- Anna Valentinovna Demeneva (Advisor to the Ombudsman in the Sverdlovsk Region), topic: “Russian practice of implementing the third UN Sustainable Development Goal “ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for all at any age”;
- Anastasia Stanislavovna Kushleiko (Advisor for Preventive Programs and Head of the Asia-Pacific and Eurasian sectors in the Department of Law and Humanitarian Policy of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross), topic “Contemporary humanitarian challenges and the ICRC's activities to assist achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals”;
- Natalya Borisovna Melnik (Associate Professor of the Department of History of Philosophy, UrFU), topic: “Philosophical meanings of sustainable development”;
- Leonid Markovich Grigoriev (Chief Advisor to the Head of the Analytical Centre for the Government of the Russian Federation, Professor at the Higher School of Economics), topic: “The UN Sustainable Development Goals under the Impact of a Pandemic”;
- Bobylev Sergey Nikolaevich (Head of the Centre of Bioeconomics and Eco-Innovation of Moscow State University, professor of the Moscow State University, expert of the UN Development Program), topic: “Sustainable Development Goals and New Economy Models”;
- Vasiliy Alekseyevich Tokarev (Senior Researcher, Liberal Arts University, Yekaterinburg), topic: “Equality as a legal principle and a goal in the field of sustainable development: contemporary problems”;
- Yuri Yuryevich Kovalev (Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of International Relations, UrFU), topic: “Innovation, sustainable cities and green economy in sustainable development strategies (Sustainable cities: utopia or reality? Green economy – economy – future?)”;
- Maxim Aleksandrovich Likhachev (Associate Professor of the Department of International and European Law of the Ural State Law University), topic: “Legal personality of an individual in international law (SDG No. 16 “Peace, justice and effective institutions: the right to legal personality”).
